"The blue lagoon" – camping in Ingolstadt
Ingolstadt's AZUR campsite is on the banks of the Auwaldsee lake and is easily accessible by road from the A9 autobahn as it passes between Nuremberg and Munich. Locals call the lake "the blue lagoon" on account of its colour and shape. The campsite is operated by AZUR Freizeit GmbH, which is based in Stuttgart. For those who love the water, adults and children alike, the range of recreational activities offers everything for a perfect holiday: boating, swimming, fishing and paddling. Plus there are plenty more attractions and things to see and do in close proximity. Welcome to the great outdoors!
Travelling by motorhome: the perfect place for a stopover
In addition to the Auwaldsee campsite, there are parking spaces for motorhomes at the Mitte indoor swimming pool, which is centrally located on Jahnstrasse at the western edge of the Old Town. There are 13 spaces that are available all year round. Please note that there are no sanitary installations. The fee (payable at a machine) is EUR 5.50 for 24 hours and includes electricity. The fee for fresh water and waste disposal are EUR 1.00. The maximum parking duration is up to three days for motorhomes. Campers can enjoy lovely walks in the green areas of the city close by and a relaxing glass of beer or sparkling apple juice in the traditional Künettegraben beer garden.
