A youth hostel in historical surroundings
Ingolstadt Youth Hostel is situated at the western edge of the Old Town in Cavalier Zweibrücken, an historical fortress building. "We offer young people a straightforward, affordable place where they can relax and spend the night in a comfortable environment," explains manager Monika Geiger, talking about the hostel's philosophy. As in all Bavarian youth hostels, in Ingolstadt priority is given to guests aged up to 26. There are exceptions for group leaders and parents with at least one under-age child.
Explore the world, further your horizons and meet new people
Worldwide there are over 4,000 youth hostels on five continents open to young people. The idea behind the concept is as enticing as ever: regardless of their background and financial means, young people should have the opportunity to see the world and expand their horizons. The only requirement is membership of the German Youth Hostel Association (DJH) or another national youth hostel association. Membership cards, which are valid around the world, can be purchased at the youth hostel itself or online here. There are special membership packages for young people, persons aged 27 or over and families.
Ingolstadt Youth Hostel: a great place for a holiday
Cavalier Zweibrücken is directly opposite the open-air swimming pool and next to the regional athletic ground. An indoor swimming pool and the Fronte 79 youth centre are within walking distance. There is a wide array of leisure facilities just a short distance from the hostel, ranging from the Donautherme Wonnemar pool complex to the West recreation area (lake, six beach volleyball courts, wildlife reserve, sports pitches, table tennis, crazy golf), from Ingolstadt's varied museums to woods and lakes suitable for bathing in the city and the surrounding area.
