The baroque museum building was built around 1730 by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ingolstadt. The aim was to teach the basic subjects of medical science: Anatomy, Botany, Physics and Chemistry. Nowadays the "Old Anatomy" houses a German wide unique exhibition on the history of occidental medicine. The round tour leads from the art of healing in the ancient world to the development of special medical-related subjects in the 19th and 20th century.

Please Note

Due to ongoing construction works a part of the museum remains closed and discounted admission fees are charged. The whole museum is closed from 1st of October until 1st of November 2020.
